Bob Stamnes is the President and CEO of Elevator, a Vancouver-based marketing and communications firm he founded that works at the intersection of data, emerging technologies and social purpose with a commitment to purpose and mission based marketing.
Bob has been at the forefront of cause marketing for almost three decades. He and his team rebranded Ethical Funds, helping them win the first ever Canadian Human Rights award in marketing. Bob has also worked with the World Cancer Congress to develop their global television campaign based on their work for his agency’s work for the Canadian Cancer Foundation. As well, Bob and Elevator have helped countless organizations receive multi million dollar campaigns in donated media across Canada.
Bob is a founding member of The Big Brothers Giving Society, Past Vice President of Ronald McDonald House, Past board member Canadian Business For Social Responsibility, and numerous other organizations. He was a finalist for Ernst and Young’s Entrepreneur of The Year Award, and a recipient of Business in Vancouver’s “40 under 40” award. Bob currently sits on the board of The Open Door Group, BC’s largest no-profit provider of employment services. He is a regular contributor, and with Elevator, partner to the Masters Program at The Centre For Digital Media in Vancouver.
Peter ter Weeme
A Certified Advertising Agency Practitioner and co-founder of two mission-driven agencies, Peter ter Weeme is a 25-year veteran of the purpose-driven marketing movement. With expertise in marketing and communications, sustainability issues, and business strategy, his professional experience spans the world of corporate, government and non-profit clients in North America, Europe and Asia.
With an MBA specializing in environmental management, he has founded and grown two successful consultancies, and led the marketing and communications at Mountain Equipment Co-op, Canada’s national retail leader in social and environmental responsibility. Today, he is the EVP, Purpose and Brand Citizenship for Elevator, a Vancouver-based marketing and communications firm that works at the intersection of data, emerging technologies and social purpose. Peter leads the agency’s purpose-driven marketing practice and is also focused on growing the agency through business development, partnerships and events.
A recipient of Business in Vancouver’s “40 under 40″ award, Peter is an active member of various progressive business and community initiatives. In addition to having served on the Board of the Vancity Community Foundation (including as co-Chair), he is the previous Chair of Canadian Business for Social Responsibility. He has also acted as an advisor to a variety of successful mission-based businesses and presents regularly at mission-based business events like Sustainable Brands and the Social Venture Network.
